Stay in Murmansk from 01 to 05 July 2027; place - Hotel Cosmos, room 507 on the 5th floor. What I liked: very friendly and polite staff at reception and in the hotel restaurant. Decent breakfast buffet (subject to limited fresh fruit selection). The availability of a lift in the lobby for people with disabilities to facilitate access to the elevators. Now for the four-star claim. The impression that all the funds for the renovation of the building went to the facade, which is supposed to lure a tourist. Yes, the entrance group and the lobby give the impression of a good class hotel. However, as soon as you go upstairs, the impression immediately dissipates. Already the elevator hall on the floor brings to mind Soviet holiday homes with massive furniture in dark shades. Now for the number. The main drawback is the lack of air conditioning and netting on the windows. Murmansk is a town in the forest tundra zone, where mosquitoes and midges are enough in summer. However, the room lacks these must have facilities, which forces either sleeping in a stuffy room or accepting the presence of bloodthirsty "guests". The furniture is as old and shabby (see attached photos) as the "flat-screen TV", which, although working, has long since crossed the threshold of maturity. The front of the hotel from the street may seem attractive, especially in promotional photos, but all the frames in the windows are old, wooden, with loose handles. The bathroom, this one can't be taken away, has three large containers, with generously poured liquid soap, shampoo and shower gel, but the equipment... see attached picture. To this general impression came the laziness of the corridor maid, who in all 5 days never replenished even the supply of tea bags, let alone replaced bed linen and towels (except for the foot sheet when leaving the shower). There may be some glossy rooms on some floor that are advertised in hotels, but our realities turned out to be very different. This is all the more surprising since Cosmos, through some intermediate legal entity, enters the international Radisson hotel business. Or did the renovation infusion end with the beginning of the known events? In any case, according to the above, the hotel deserves a solid two stars, not a self-proclaimed four.

Hotel comfort class, for business trip

I had to spend few nights in this old hotel because i was with a group to explore Murmansk. No staffs can speak English. They use google translate to talk to guests. The worst part was internet which many guests couldn't get connected to! The receptionist told us that city power is damaged,hence the internet is terrible here! But i could see some other guests could have get connected!! So, it was not the city power, it was the "hotel internet" and she was not honest with us!! Another problem was the stairs. You must carry your bags up to the first floor till you get to the elevators!
