Rinaldi At Grechesky Pr.

On Thu November 12 2009 I booked a room at Rinaldi Grechesky for Mon 16 November through an Internet booking agency. When I arrived on Monday, there was no answer to the doorbell, no-one answered the hotel phone. There was no information on the hotel door, so I thought maybe the only person working at the reception has had to somewhere I decided to wait for a moment. Soon I noticed some mail lying on the floor, and soon some friendly neighbours, who passed me, informed me that they had seen no action at the hotel for a few days. The hotel did not exist anymore! I called the Internet booking agency, and complained about the non-existing hotel (they booked me another hotel and reimbursed my extra expenses). Later on I asked the Internet booking agency how is it possible that they confirm me a room in the hotel that does not exist, or is about to wind up its operations. They found out that the hotel chain had not informed their agent, who in turn sold the rooms to he internet booking agency, about the closure. The chain has several hotels in St. Petersburg, which I visit quite often. But how do I know if they have decided to close another hotel, if they don't inform their agents, or don't even leave a notice at the front door saying that the hotel is not operating anymore? Rinaldi customer service attitude, no thanks.

We stayed a week at the hotel and it was a great stay. It's like staying at your good friend apartment. Actually, the hotel is in an apartment, there are (if I recall right) 4 rooms and a breakfast area. Beside bed and closet room has a TV, a sofa and a safe box. Shower and toilet in great condition, clean and tidy. Location is very good - it's 1 min. walk to Nevsky prospekt, which is central street and also same time to metro and other stations. On the other hand the hotel is in very quiet place. There are some nice restaurants in the neighborhood. And just in seconds of walk you have large concert hall. (don't worry, it won't disturb you in hotel) The staff was very nice and helpful. Price was 85EUR/night for 3 persons in a room. Enjoy.
