Generally good room and hotel, very well located in the vicinity of almost all attractions. The entrance to the hotel is from Moika, and the landmark is the Volchika bakery on the corner of Moika and Nevsky. Interesting transition from noise and gamma at the entrance to silence inside the hotel. The location allows you to walk anytime, walk to the Neva, watch the bridges break and white nights. The room is large enough, bathroom with window, there is both shower and bath. But there are also drawbacks: the shower cubicle smells stale, the air conditioning is too loud, the hotel saves on small things (no comb and razor kit, notebook and pencil/pen). Bed and pillows - ca. Breakfast is good, several kinds of fish, red caviar, very good milk, including goat yogurt and cottage cheese, some quite decent but pre-cooked dishes. But fresh eggs only on request from the waiter, brought, but in the end cold. The coffee is good, the champagne is Soviet. I highly recommend the pool and spa, almost completely free in the morning. But I would like to open early (now from 8.00 a.m.), and close later so that you can come in in the morning or after the day is over.

In July 2024, we visited the Hotel Talion with mixed experiences, which I certainly did not fail to reflect in the review (https://www.tripadvisor.ru/ShowUserReviews-g298507-d446840-r959638720-Taleon_Imperial_Hotel-St_Petersburg_Northwestern_District.html). You can read the response of the hotel representatives, in which I am politely assured in general sentences that supposedly "this will never happen again, all problems will be solved and we will always be happy to see you again." As the classicist used to say, "Who's still there." Exactly six months later, we're back at the Talion Hotel, and what's changed? I wish my answer was different, but it's basically nothing. 1. I won't harbour a sin, the girls' reception work is better. Thank you. 2. The pool, which as early as the summer of 2024 required urgent repairs, is, of course, still in the same deplorable condition. Before our eyes, children in the pool literally walked on a handful of marble that had fallen off the sides, wiping their feet of blood. At the bottom of the pool bowl, these sharp squares lie mountainously. Is that the quality of a five-star hotel? By the way, there was no hot water in the rooms on 03.01. What's this nonsense? 3. I can't say anything wrong with the restaurant in the Atrium that serves breakfast. In the summer and now, the quality of the food is at the highest level, the girls working there are welcoming and enjoyable. And, of course, we are happy time and again with the range of dishes - beyond praise! 4. The situation with the number stock got worse: this time we were put in room 522, where the toilet smelled like a sewer. Our complaints were answered literally as follows: "Yeah, we know it always is. And why didn't you say we'd come and fix it." So everyone is aware of the problem, but no one is going to solve it without much attention from the guest? Why can't the room be properly prepared for check-in and all the sewerage problems solved BEFORE the customer shows up at the doorstep of the hotel, if even the staff themselves are aware of the problem? 5. Like last time, my biggest complaints are about the work of the staff. Every time we visit Hotel Talion, we discover new facets of strange excuses and strange situations. + Situation one. For the New Year's holidays the weather in St. Petersburg was snowy, and naturally, rather soon huge puddles formed in the hotel lobby on the VERY slippery marble floor. No one was going to clean them up, apparently, so I had to go to reception myself and ask for the cleaners. What would you think? That's right, after that time and my request, no one else wiped the dirt, the situation did not change for many days. Nobody cares. + Situation two. The picture is as follows: a restaurant where breakfast is served; an empty table with a "Reserved" sign; no one sits at the table for several days. We asked the waitress what and why, to which the lovely girl replied without a blink that it was their boss' favorite table, and therefore it was always kept reserved. I find it hard to comment. I've been to so many hotels all over the world, but the Talion Hotel has opened up new horizons of strangeness for me time and again. I'd like to ask - is this a restaurant for the boss? Maybe all the guests should go out and not disturb the staff? Is it a restaurant for the GUESTS or for the staff? + Situation three, which is the apex of all of the above and, as last time, it happened in a lobby bar. On the evening of January 2 (around 7 p.m.), we went down to the bar to relax. Virtually all the seats were taken, there was only a table for two, and there were three of us. We approached the bartender, and I started a conversation about the availability of certain dishes on the menu, to which I was answered through my teeth by a bartender named Ivan (the main character of the story), hardly looking back. Next, we asked Ivan how to solve the problem of the missing chair. Ivan struck us with an honest answer: "Well, you can take any chair and drag." You can see immediately - this is the service level of a five-star hotel! And yes, we had to carry a very heavy chair ourselves. To understand the situation: yes, of course, it is not the job of Ivan the bartender himself to drag furniture, but he stands by his post to solve problems, not to shrug his shoulders and respond rudely through his teeth. Five metres away, there was a receptionist and porter stand, and Ivan had to settle the matter rather than react tepidly to our remarks, after the degree of his rudeness and indifference became impossible to tolerate. And yes, of course, when we wanted to talk about the hotel's problems with the management, miraculously no one was there. Just like summer. What is it, a coincidence or a normal condition for hotel management? It was only on January 4th that we managed to catch one of the administrators, but I will not deceive, I do not believe that the problems with the staff at the hotel will be solved, because the Hotel Talion, for all its fancy exterior gloss, suffers from the worst disease the hotel can have - total and total indifference of the people working there. And that's probably no longer fixable.
