Teranga Hotel & Villas

Nice, clean, friendly and safe hotel with excellent wi-fi at reception and bar. Great pools, good food and reasonably priced. Nice little village with arts and crafts for sale. Locals a bit too eager to sell.

Arrived at reception to be received by a receptionist who had feet up on a chair could not be bothered to at least get up and attend to us speaking as if i was bothering her from her break or something was so put off got a taxi to another hotel did not bother checking the rooms but must recommend the security guard so helpful with taxi and location of alternative hotel.

The pools (there are three of them) are great, especially if you have a toddler, the kiddie pool is huge and has a little waterfall, it is great. There are two small sandy beach areas where you can find seashells right next to the hotel, not big enough to lounge on, but they are clean and the water is shallow for a ways out and makes for nice shell hunting. As soon as you step foot off of hotel property you are "game" for the locals to sell you things. The room was pretty nice, very roomy and the a/c worked well. The wifi did not work in the rooms, and I believe the cable was about 6 channels, but we weren't there to use either of those, so not a big deal. Lunch and dinner were very expensive at the on-site restaurant and not very good...many local restaurants had much better food for less. Location...if I were to go back to Saly I would probably look for something further away from the local art market/village and discos, very loud and Noisy, and a large number of street vendors looking to sell you something. I would also be more interested in a hotel that had a good restaurant, but does not charge so much to dine there, It would have been nice to relax at the hotel all day without having to go out all the time for lunch and dinner.
