Park Inn Danube

Very disappointing stay — air conditioning issue handled poorly We booked two rooms at Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working properly, and we were not informed of this in advance. Within five minutes of raising the issue, we were told to set the temperature to 20°C and wait 20 minutes, which did not seem like a serious response. Before going out for around three hours, we told reception that the issue needed to be fixed because we would not be able to sleep there otherwise. We were told an engineer was being called. When we returned, a different duty manager, Pavel, was on reception. He offered a 30% discount and fans, but did not properly acknowledge the seriousness of the issue. One of our two rooms could not even have the window opened, so a fan was not an acceptable solution. No offer was made to move us to their partner hotel in the same city, and the hotel did not accept responsibility for failing to warn us about the air conditioning issue before arrival. Other guests were also calling reception about air conditioning problems. When we asked how the wider issue would be resolved, Pavel said it was not our business, even though it clearly affected guests. We also met other guests in the lift from a different floor who said their air conditioning was ice cold and they could not turn it off, which suggested a wider hotel system problem. In the end, we contacted Booking.com, through whom we had booked. After Booking.com spoke directly with Pavel, the hotel agreed to a 100% refund. We then left and booked alternative accommodation elsewhere. The location may be convenient, but based on our experience, the way the hotel handled a major comfort issue was unacceptable. The lack of advance notice, poor communication, limited solutions, and reluctance to take responsibility made this a very disappointing stay.

The hotel is overall beautiful and comfortable, with an excellent location just a few steps from the center, the Danube, and the UFO tower. The breakfast is good, although it is 90% savory. The classic rooms are comfortable in terms of the beds, but they lack a minibar, which is really a disadvantage in the summer. Cleaning and towel changes, another inconvenience, are only done upon request, but in my case, having left the room at 9:00 AM and returned at 1:30 PM, they still had not been done. The toilet is separate from the sink and shower area. It is an inconvenient solution, but it probably fits with local habits. There is a spa and gym available for an additional fee. The quality-price ratio is good, but a few adjustments would be enough to raise the level.

Lovely hotel in a great location in old town near all the sights and lots of nice restaurants and bars. Room was larger than expected with a separate sitting area. Reception staff were really helpful and gave us some great tips on places to visit.
