Overall amazing service from the staff, the food was amazing big ups to the guys from the kitchen who gave me salad that was left over from lunch even when it wasn't on the supper menu.Could do better by cleaning checking the plumbing problem on room 147 but I'm very impressed.A high Five to Tshepo ran all over the place from the kitchen to the reception making sure that everyone is well taken care of addresses you in the most polite way. I'm impressed with the Southern Sun Acardia PTA staff. Ps* BO Speelman

Dear Southern Hotel Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. While the property may look appealing, my experience did not reflect the standards of a 4‑star establishment. This is the only hotel I have felt compelled to formally complain about, as others I’ve stayed at recently have exceeded expectations. • Elevator and Room Access: The key card system was extremely frustrating. I was not alone in this—many guests voiced similar complaints. Both the elevator and room door access were unreliable and inconvenient. I strongly urge you to upgrade these systems. • Bar Service: Despite the bar not being busy, service was slow. Ordering drinks, receiving bills, and general attentiveness were lacking. Staff appeared annoyed by our presence, which is unacceptable in hospitality. • Room Service: Another guest had to physically walk down after waiting over 90 minutes for food, as he could not reach the restaurant by phone. This reflects poorly on your room service operations. • Breakfast Experience: The breakfast was mediocre, with nothing distinctive or exciting. More concerning was the rude interaction my daughter experienced when ordering a hot drink—she was told she should have ordered earlier, despite the fact she was still getting her food at the time. Such treatment is unacceptable. Overall, the service and staff attitude were disappointing. I will not be booking at Southern Hotel Pretoria again. It is unfortunate that Protea Hotel Loftus was fully booked, as that was my first choice and has consistently provided excellent service. I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement improvements, as your current standards do not align with the expectations of a 4‑star hotel. Sincerely,

Southern Sun Arcadia in Pretoria! The hotel is stunning, but it’s the people that make it unforgettable. I honestly don’t know how to explain the love and warmth you get from the staff there. Every visit I wonder, How do they treat guests this good I’m beyond grateful - service is world-class every single time. Big shout out to the team. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out. Ohw I miss them already❤️
