Protea Hotel Midrand

After staying at Protea North Warf, this location was a bit of a disappointment. The staff was extremely friendly and wonderful! But the room was small, dark and dingy. I was only there one night, thankfully. Upon check in, I was told my room had been upgraded….given the room I had, I wouldn’t want to see what the others were like. It was clean though, I must say that. Also no elevators so I had to carry my suitcases up and down a few small flights of stairs.

Restaurant poor service and terrible food. Currently having dinner on 16 August 2025. Poor service and horrible food. Ordered then gourmet burger. Absolutely horrible. Firstly ordered Burger and mashed potatoes. Was served with chips. Onion rings on Burger was ice cold probably cooked a week ago. Overall pathetic restaurant. Not worth eating there.

We had a good stay, we made bookings short notice and the process was quite easy. The room was standard, comfortable and clean. The pool was clean and beautiful. Child friendly and quiet. The parking is not covered though but security seems alright. I would certainly stay here again.
