Protea Hotel Transit

Excellent airport hotel. Very elevated rooms, food and service. Expensive room rates but its location makes it worth it. Its directly across the street from the international arrival terminal.

Surprised, nicer than expected. Great service, everyone very welcoming. Environment nice both inside and out. Decent breakfast buffet, bar and food service rest of day good. More quiet than expected being a bit close to the airport, free shuttle

We stayed at the Protea the night we arrived at JNB from Amsterdam. We got checked in very quickly and shown to our room. Rooms are quite small, despite having booked a “larger” King room, but certainly sufficient for a one-night stay. Room was quiet, despite facing the airport. Breakfast buffet is excellent for an airport hotel; great selection, good service; complementary for upper level Bonvoy members.
