Holiday Inn Johannesburg - Rosebank

The Holiday Inn Johannesburg Rosebank pleasantly surprised me from the very first moment. Especially the location makes this hotel a true recommendation for anyone who wants to explore Johannesburg comfortably and safely. Directly from the hotel, one can access a large shopping street with many shops, cafes, and restaurants. Especially in the evening, it was nice to be able to reach everything conveniently on foot. A major advantage is also the well-known Hop on Hop Off bus that starts right in front of the hotel. This allows many of the city's attractions to be discovered easily, without having to search long for transportation options. The rooms appear modern yet cozy in their furnishings. I particularly liked the small but very practical idea with the pillows. Each bed has soft and firm pillows available, so everyone can truly decide how they sleep best. Such details often make a stay significantly more pleasant. The breakfast offers a wide selection, and there is nothing to complain about in terms of quality. However, on the first morning, the setup was somewhat confusing. One initially needs a brief overview to understand where the individual stations are located. After that, one can navigate well and enjoy breakfast in a relaxed manner. Overall, a very pleasant hotel with an excellent location, friendly atmosphere, and many small details that make the stay in Johannesburg particularly enjoyable.

I stayed for 3 nights some days were good but overall service was a bit low My room was not cleaned to standard

I picked this hotel because of its location, and I was not disappointed. It has direct connection to the mall with lots of food and shopping options. The area feels safe, day and night. Room is basic but very clean. Staff are nice. The hop-on-hop-off bus stop and Gautrain station is right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient for sightseeing and going to the airport. However, please be informed that the Gautrain only operates every 30 minutes in the weekend, with required transfer in Sandton, and that can add another 20-30 minutes, so the assumed 30-minute airport ride can go up to nearly 1.5 hours. You can use Uber which is plentiful and cheap in Johannesburg, but the traffic is bad.
