We spent 2 nights at the D'Oreale. It is located well outside Johannesburg ( for security/safety reasons) and about 15 minutes drive from the international airport. The complex is very big with several restaurants and gambling casinos. Looks and feels like being in las Vegas. However is is very handy and secure, avoiding the risks of being housed within central Joburg. A "free" shuttle will transfer you back and forth to the airport. The room is big, the shower could have been better as several holes in the shower head were blocked and the shower drain was partially blocked with some strange looking contaminant flowing back into the shower area. The water temperature was very difficult to maintain at a constant level. The bed was large, the floor carpet was not clean. The wifi was very good, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a good safe place to kick off your South African trip.
