Protea Hotel Wanderers

We spent the night before our flight to Singapore. The staff was lovely and the food was fine. Our issues were with the room. The shower head was completely split so that the water poured out one side. And I found what looked like mold stains on my pillow. These things are disturbing , especially for a Marriott hotel. I’m a member and that is why we booked this hotel.

I must commend VUYO who provided excellent service during my 2 meals at the hotel restaurant. He was courteous, soft spoken with an ever ready smile. He made my dining experience wonderful.

The hotel suited our needs for our short stay. It is a nice area of Johannesburg with several nice restaurants nearby. We ate in the hotel restaurant in the evening and the food was good and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was equally good with a huge selection to choose from. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and always cheerful. The rooms were quite small with the shower in the room with a curtain round for privacy. We found that a little unusual. There is another Marriott hotel opposite. For the short time we were in Johannesburg this hotel was adequate for our needs.
