Protea Parktonian All Suite

I stayed at the Parktonian for around 11 nights and have stayed at the hotel several times over the last 10-15 years. The rooms are a little dated but are large in size and good value for money. They no longer provide any glasses in the room. Wi Fi is good. Food is mediocre and the menu is a little limited. The pool was out of order and covered in green algae with no out of order signs. After complaining to reception signs were soon put up. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is good overall but has seen better days and some slight decline in various points e.g. food, pool and some other various aspects. The location is fantastic and near the gau train. I have rated the hotel average due to the hotel not being quite as good as previous stays and due to the broken pool which had been out of order for a long while. Away from food quality and the pool everything about the hotel is decent.

Braamfontaine is a good place lots of students lots of shops you fill like you are part of the people of Johannesburg not like a tourist I like it

I really enjoyed my stay at the Parktonian. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, very happy to keep my bags for me when I came by at 8am, well before check-in. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, even if some aspects of them could do with an upgrade. (Everything functioned by the way, I had a perfectly good stay). The views from the top deck are spectacular (take your swim wear and have a dip in the rooftop pool) and are almost worth the price of the room. I would definitely stay here again.
