TOWNLODGE SANDTON

I had such a wonderful experience at this lodge. The place is beautiful, clean, peaceful, and very well maintained. The rooms were comfortable and everything was organised perfectly. What stood out the most was the excellent reception and customer service. The staff was warm, welcoming, professional, and always willing to assist with a smile. They made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. I would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I’ll certainly be coming back again!

We stayed here for two nights, arriving late on our first evening. The buffet breakfasts were of a good standard with a reasonable range of foods available. Our room was of an adequate size, but lacked any rack or similar on which to stand suitcases. The bathroom was quite large with a constant supply of hot water. Bizarrely, there was a lot of noise from rooms down our corridor from 1600 to 1900, but was not a problem later or overnight and did not merit complaint to the hotel management. The hotel was probably well located, but it was difficult to assess with their being restrictions in the area as it coincided with the G20 conference which was being held that weekend.

I was attack loose end in Joburg waiting for a flight to Zambia. I just needed a clean bed and a quiet room. The last time I used Road Lodge was in PE and Richard’s Bay a while back and the experience was not great. Lousy beds, below average facilities, noisy guests.. just low quality, budget accommodation. So that’s what I expected this time. I must say that I was happily surprised by Road Lodge Sandton. The rooms are budget style: small and compact, but the facilities are excellent for the price you pay. The bed is perfectly fine, TV works, aircon works, the place is neat and tidy, and the restaurant is beyond what I expected The staff are friendly and professional, the food is tasty, the garden is delightful, and the price is spot-on for a short business visit. There is quite a lot of road noise, but it didn’t bother me. It’s close to the highway, close enough to shops etc. I’ll definitely consider it next time I’m in Jozi.
