Perry's Bridge Hollow Boutique

I had a deeply frustrating experience at Perry’s Bridge Hollow in Hazyview. Although the facilities are clean and beautiful , a huge down fall here is that management ( Rephi) seems nonexistent, and there's no protocol guiding the staff on how to handle any situation. It’s truly concerning that if something goes wrong on the property, there seems to be no assurance it’ll be properly addressed. Management ( Rephi) doesn’t answer her phone and clearly had no intention of returning any of the calls over the long weeks . The reception staff have no guidance when needed and are left high and dry. There’s no after-hours maintenance, and the staff have no idea where essential things like the DB board in case of emergency. Guests from what I experienced are virtually left to fend for themselves if something should happen. General breakdown leading to overwhelming aggravation as follows: 1. I made a reservation on the 1st of April, paid in full, and received correspondence confirming the requested rooms due to the nature of our visit and the parking spaces required, Shockingly, a week before arrival, the reservations department contacted me asking to release my booking , what a baffling request given that everything had already been confirmed , paid for in full and been communicated. 2. Even worse, after I informed both reservations being central point of communication at Hippo Hollow, that we’d be arriving late and despite also confirming the late arrival with Perry’s Bridge, I received a call one hour later asking if we were planning to check jn that evening… they seemed to ask as if they had no idea of the discussion Held a few hours before. There was clearly no communication between staff, and it was incredibly frustrating. 3. To add even more frustration, what was supposed to be a pleasant birthday weekend getaway turned into constant anxiety and nonstop problems. Upon arrival, we weren’t given the rooms we requested. We were placed in two different rooms. When we asked where our reserved rooms were, we were told they’d been given to someone else with no explanation. It was completely baffling and frustrating to arrive at 9 PM only to find our paid-for rooms reassigned and … management., well they were away for the weekend and did not take our calls , to date still not a word from her. 4. The circus act was not over, after other guests checked out we were graciously moved to rooms closer to where we booked for the Saturday evening. Lone and behold the geysers thermostat must have been broken and a loud sounding click continued into the night which we even opted to repair ourselves so as to get sleep but suprise , this resort has no ladder nor a clue on how to switch off the geyser in any of their units as they could find the rooms DB board … what a joke ! SO lucky us … but we had to move again late night back to the room we were originally given and did not want but had no choice. By the way note to self : maintenance leaves at four and then no one can help you so basically deal with it. Coming to Perry’s Bridge has done nothing less than ruin my entire weekend. It left my family exhausted and turned me into someone I am not due to next level frustration, I found myself constantly aggravated due to incompetency and lack of skilled management. I’m absolutely disgusted and angry that I had to spend my entire weekend running between rooms, contacting reception, and basically organizing my own sleeping arrangements. I am beyond shocked that the poor reception staff had no one to support them or to turn to for guidance. And let me add, people staying at Perry's Bridge should hopefully have their own ability to think on their feet if there's an emergency, because nobody here seems to have any protocol. In the future, I really foresee things going very wrong if they don't update their dutymanager and staff communication.

Excellent location and beautifully landscaped. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Most importantly, the staff are warm and welcoming. The welcome drink was exceptional and the packed breakfast was ideal for an early Kruger Park departure. The restaurant beside it is good and convenient.

From the minute we arrived I knew I would love it here. Our hut had a pool view, which was lovely. The hut had air conditioning, a fridge, lovely coffee and was clean and modern. The outside shower was a new experience and quite fun! The bed was large and comfortable and we slept really well. The hotel is based on a (sort of) resort, with lots and lots of boutique shops and restaurants, with the hotel behind a gate within the site. It felt safe and welcoming. Having the shops and restaurants on site meant we didn't have to drive, which was a bonus. I had a spa treatment on site (which is one of the best I've ever had). There's a lovely gift shop, a chocolatier, a cafe, Italian restaurant and more than I can mention. Safari trips and other excursions can be booked directly from the site, however, we had a hire car, so did not make use of the service. Kuka Cafe was superb, all food was top class. We had breakfast and a couple of evening meals, all of which were presented beautifully - compliments to the chef. Location is great, we drove to the Kruger park and there's lots to see and do in the area. The outside pool was great on the hot days. All staff were wonderful. Cheerful, attentive and made us feel extremely welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend.
