We have just finished the most wonderful stay at the Imbali Safari Lodge. The staff were so kind, attentive and knowledgable. We felt incredibly well taken care of. The food, location and service is all exceptional. Huge thanks go to Archie and Winston for taking such good care of us and making our stay incredibly special! The safari drives themselves are also superb. Our guide Victor could not have been more knowledgable and as a bonus very funny! He showed us so much and kept us laughing as we drove round. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay, other than to say we will most definitely be coming back.

Lovely safari lodges with mosquito nets. Good internet everywhere. Small site with an intimate feel. Excellent staff. Food great. Saw some fairly harmless but beautiful small snakes on site too! Safari hosts Zak & Janine were excellent too.

We have just returned home from our trip to South Africa and finished our last leg at Imbali. Wow, where do we start? From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth by all the staff. A welcome drink and cold towel was given when we stepped out of our transfer, and we were swiftly offered tea and coffee whilst we had an introduction to the lodge. Our room was absolutely beautiful, and spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and so comfortable. Amenities were provided in the bathroom and even a complimentary mini bar stocked with drinks and milk. When we came into our room each evening the mosquito net had been put down and a ‘ bush bed time story’ was placed on our bed which was such a beautiful touch. Food at Imbali was incredible and always in abundance. You started your day with a 5am wake up call and then coffee/tea and rusks before you went out on your morning drive. The star of our stay was our guide Ryan. He was absolutely fantastic and made our experience. From the moment we met him, my husband and I knew we would get along with him. His skills were so very impressive and we were in awe of him. From spotting tracks on the road and following them until we found a lioness, to being able to identify which bird we could hear without seeing them, to even spotting a chameleon in a tree one evening that literally looked like a leaf to any normal person! He impressed us more and more every single day. His knowledge of the flora and fauna was unmatched. He was personable, funny and made our drives unforgettable. Because of him we were able to see many animals such as lions feeding on a giraffe, elephants, impalas, bushbucks, hippos, baboons, hyenas, water buffalo, zebras and endless amounts of birds, insects and other small mammals. Thank you Ryan for making our experience so special. After the game drives we were always greeted by the staff at the lodge and tea and coffee would be waiting for us. The day between drives were chilled, and we took the opportunity to sit in the beautiful lounge space and look out onto the river and watering hole. Before the afternoon drive, high tea is served with sandwiches, cakes and drinks to keep you going until dinner later in the evening. special mention goes to all the staff at the lodge who made our experience a beautiful one. Golden, Winston, Nkosi were a few names we got and we are super grateful for their warmth and attention to detail when looking after us. We only wished we had longer at Imbali, and cannot recommend it enough. We know will be back in the future! Thank you to everyone and we are so glad we got to experience this special place.
