Safari Hotel (Orion) – 10/10
My husband Pogiso Marakalla and I stayed from 3 April 2026 to 5 April 2026, and we left truly impressed.
Rooms: Spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Everything worked perfectly and the beds were excellent.
Cleanliness: Top notch. Our room and all common areas were spotless every day.
Food: Fresh, tasty, and good variety at every meal. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and dinner service.
Staff: The General Manager and the Manager went above and beyond to make our stay smooth. They were professional, warm, and sorted out every request quickly. The whole team was friendly and attentive.
We felt genuinely looked after from check in to check out. Based on the rooms, cleanliness, food, and the outstanding help from the General Manager and Manager, we happily rate Safari Hotel (Orion) 10/10.
We will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

For an establishment that says it's a conferencing venue, it has extremely poor WiFi and none at all in the rooms, could not even join a Teams meeting. The rooms are old furniture-wise and in need of an update. The TV's are old not HD quality and also there is no Dstv, so your only option is the free to air open view on an SD TV you cant even use your own Netflix account because there IS NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS!!!!! shambolic, the only saving grace is the food is good

This is possibly one of the worst hotels that I’ve actually ever stayed in. I don’t think the rooms have been cleaned in the last six months the door locks are all broken because of someone trying to steal or break into these premises.
The reception ladies are very friendly but so slow that you can die waiting. My room is so far away from my vehicle it takes me 15 minutes just to walk to my car. The rooms have an unpleasant odor they could do with a complete refurbish - if you’re paying R150 or R200 a night this could be acceptable but you not.
The dinner was overtly low quality food that must be avoided and the picture of the lovely Train cart where you can eat is no longer in use.
The staff are friendly
This is very much a local holiday for locals and it is on the lowest end possible.
If you’re a tourist do you homework very very carefully.
