Dock House

There is no way to express the hospitality and kindness of the staff. From the moment we arrived to our goodbyes, they were thoughtful and kind. My husband was sick part of the time and the staff kept asking if we needed a doctor or anything else. The hotel itself is the old dock master’s house. It is lovely and quiet. Ashley was our “go to person” in the house and he made our stay easy and enjoyable. He anticipated our every need. Breakfast was excellent with a buffet as well ability to order off the menu. It is part of the Queen Victoria hotel which is right across the courtyard (where you check in). They have a bar and dining room, so we enjoyed a cocktail every evening before we headed out for dinner. And of course the hotel is right at the V&A waterfront. I can’t recommend the Dock House enough!

We had such a lovely stay at Dock House Boutique Hotel. The highlight each morning was the breakfast room—Ashley and Uya were absolutely wonderful, so warm and attentive, and they made every day start on such a happy note. Truly exceptional service that made the whole experience feel extra special.

We have stayed at The Dock House numerous times, always in one of the upstairs rooms. They have a lovely veranda overlooking the gardens and pool. The place has had a refresh in the last few months and the breakfast room has a modern, airy feel. Ashley, who runs the breakfast room is an absolute delight and his energy and creativity bring the place to life. The rooms too have had a little update and are comfortable without being over-fussy. Location is ideal. The Waterfront can be lively at night, especially at weekends, but it does not really disturb the sense of tranquility. Importantly, the place and surroundings feel very safe.
