Very characteristic estate in the vineyard area, it seems to be in a film colony so really exclusive atmosphere. Pool well maintained as all common areas. Great and plentiful breakfast served in a nice area. The rooms are normal but equipped with everything you need. Too bad I could not dine inside or in the immediate vicinity, if I would organize tastings or dinners.

This was a return visit for us and we had our daughter and family with us this time. Initially I was disappointed with our room , we booked a vineyard room and I thought it came with a small patio but it didn’t ! Would like to know what type of rooms the ones with patios are for next time. The room felt quite small but we did get used to it and our daughter’s family room was great spacious with bathroom and bath for the kids which was ideal. Our bed was large and comfy with nice bedding and the walk in shower nice , pressure ok but took ages to come through hot. The hairdryer was on too short a lead and there was no socket near the mirror so it wasn’t easy trying to style your hair. We room cleaners were lovely always did a good job and were friendly and helpful especially Renecia she was great. Our daughter’s baby always napped in the morning and she made sure to keep noise to a minimum and clean the room around her nap times which was much appreciated.
We love the pool area and the ability to order drinks from reception , the pool is cold be warned ! We had most evening meals at Lievens and have to say that the quality of food , drinks and friendliness of the staff is as good as at our last visit. We had some fabulous meals there , it is worth booking in advance as they do get busy. Sitting on the terrace at sunset with the drink and looking out over the golf course is wonderful.
We enjoyed the short walk to breakfast and found the breakfast choice very nice , my only observation would be the size of the tea and coffee cups - too small. The choice of cooked breakfast does change and was always well presented and tasty.
We had free wine tasting vouchers and a bottle of wine in the room which was a nice added touch and much appreciated.
We absolutely love De Zalze and will be back hopefully next year. However we were very disappointed by receptions response to our request to keep one of our rooms on for an extra 1.5 hours until 11.30. It is autumn at the moment and the lodge was not even half full we made the request so our baby grand daughter could have her morning nap before our long trip home to the UK. We asked a few days in advance and were told to ask again on the morning in question. It was a flat out no to start with. I fully understand rooms need to be cleaned and when the resort is full that is fair enough but it wasn’t. He finally agreed to let us keep one of the rooms until 11am and it was better than nothing but we felt it could have been handled much better.

This accommodation was like a building site. Newly built my room still had plaster up the wall. Had a bit to walk from the basic reception to our room , hard to find in a block of 4 my room was on the lower level. Basic with no atmosphere. Again quite a walk to the breakfast area. Golf buggies avaiable for guests who find it difficult. Would not stay here again.
