Some receptionists are fluent in Japanese and check-in is usually from 3pm, but we checked in at 2pm. What's more, we upgraded to a larger room, which had a cypress bath. There is also a convenience store directly next to it, and the subway station is just around the corner (the next station after Busan Station).

We stayed at Foret The Spa Hotel Busan from August 29 – September 2 and were unfortunately disappointed. Based on the reviews we had expected much more. The corridors were extremely warm, with open windows despite outside temperatures of 33°C. Our room was very basic and lacked any decoration. At check-in we received a small air freshener spray, which seemed unusual at first – the room initially smelled nice, but by the evening there was a strong odor from the drains. After reporting this to the staff, we were given another spray, but the issue persisted. We had specifically chosen this hotel because of the bathtub, but unfortunately it was not clean, with shampoo residues still left from the previous guest. While the bathtub was a unique feature, it ended up being the only real highlight of the room, and the poor cleanliness made it less enjoyable. Breakfast was also disappointing. There are only three fixed choices – beef pho, American continental, or fried rice with shrimp – which is very limiting if you stay several days or if you are vegetarian. One morning we arrived at 9:30 am (breakfast ends at 10:00), and at 9:55 we were rudely shouted at by staff to leave because it was closing time. Drinks were also very restricted: with the continental breakfast you can only choose juice or coffee, while with the other dishes only water is included, which is frustrating for coffee drinkers. In the room, at least, there was a fridge with two small bottles of water that were refilled daily, which was a helpful detail. The location is convenient in the sense that the hotel is within walking distance from Busan Station, which makes arrival with luggage from Seoul much easier, especially since large suitcases are not allowed on buses. However, it takes around 40 minutes to reach most of the main sightseeing spots, and while buses are available nearby, the subway station is a bit further to reach. Overall, the bathtub is the only unique feature of this hotel, but it does not make up for the many shortcomings. Unless the bathtub is your absolute priority, we would recommend choosing another hotel in Busan.

Relaxing hotel in a side street near Busan Central Station. As a result, you are still very well connected by bus and subway, but it gets a bit quieter in the evening. The Nampo district is quickly reached, but other districts such as Haeundae are a bit away. The rooms in the hotel are well equipped (air conditioning, air purifier, bathtub) and the beds comfortable. I can't say anything about breakfast.
