Hotel Homers

I want to let you know how disappointed I am in Hotel Homers. I booked the high 18th floor king size bedroom sea view, the best room from what I can tell. The location and view are amazing! However the quality is very poor! Hotel Homers is FILTHY DIRTY with BLACK MOLD growing in the shower, sink area, and windows. The smell of mold was strong and even caused my wife and I to react as we are both allergic to mold. The drains for the plumbing have no p-traps so the smell of sewer and mold comes up freely through the drains to fill the room with sewage gasses and smells. I was disappointed that the windows were dirty, what an amazing view from the eighteenth floor that was distorted with dirty windows. The bed was just ok, old outdated couch’s and furniture in the room. We booked the room for 243,000 won and we were told that if we use the tooth brush and tooth paste we would be charged, really? A four star hotel charging for a tooth brush? You really have to be crazy to charge 2,000 per toothbrush and 1,000 for toothpaste. I have traveled and stayed in many places all over Asia ( over 9 countries in Asia ) and all over South Korea and have never been changed for a tooth brush. Also they do not provide was washcloths for shower but offer a washcloth for charge?? What is this hotel thinking? Hotel Homers is in need of serious cleaning, the carpets are so filthy, stained and utterly gross! Even the parking garage has so much accumulated dirt and filth. Now let’s talk about the breakfast that I paid extra 20,000 for, what a joke! A very poor selection of very cheap bland food, the food in the warmers was cold. They offer coffee in a cheap paper cup! Is that what four star hotels do? I’ve never ever seen that before. And to top it all off—— clean your own table when you’re finished? 4 Star?? NO WAY!!!! (2 star at very best, only because of location and view) The location is amazing!! Hotel Homers has so much potential, with some detail to cleanliness, some minor updates, offer the basics at no extra fees and upgrade the food service, they would deserve a four star rating. I could only give them 1 1/2 stars now and that’s due to location and view. Disappointed!

Shared a room with 2 teenage daughters, very comfortable, albeit dated rooms. the location is unbeatable - bit of a walk from the nearest metro station, but worth it for the beach frontage, views and bars & restaurants on our doorstep. After visiting the more well know Haeundae beach in Busan, Gwangali beach is far better with water front dining and FAR cheaper. Staff were courteous and when we realized my daughter had left her K-pop albums in a drawer after we left, the hotel immediately posted them back to Australia for us - amazing! The hotel's sauna (read: traditional Korean bath house) is a must. This was better than those I'd tried in Seoul & half the price. Gorgeous setting with the pools overlooking the beach and for those that aren't afraid of nudity & staff who only speak Korean, the body scrub was sensational & included a cucumber facial & massage!

I spent one week at Homers Hotel and had a wonderful experience. I have no complaints about anything, only compliments. Everything from the friendliness of the staff, hotel’s location, Wifi, hotel facilities were perfect. I did not discover the fitness center until the last two days of my stay but it is world class. On my last day I even had the 1.5 hour Thai massage which was one of the best I have ever had. My room was perfect with a great view of the ocean. The staff was always there to help me with anything request I had. I cannot say enough nice things about my stay here. I think of Homers Hotel more as a resort than hotel. The location is right on the beach in the perfect location, close to everything. I will return to Busan next year and already am looking forward to staying here.
