Our tour agent selected H1 Palace Hotel to stay 3 nights on our first group tour to Seoul as this resort is one of a few that has a golf course. The G4Fun group played our second golf game at High One CC. This is a championship course, the venue for the KLPGA annual event. The fairway is not the typical fairway as part of a few fairways has long grass. The hotel is one of the more popular ski resorts. The rooms are spacious. There is a regular bus shuttle service to mountain ski house,casino hotel,water world,Gohan station and nearby condominiums. The casino is probably the most crowded one in S Korea as this is the only one in Korea open to locals. There is also a cable car station that gave a commanding view. The cable car station start from hotel to ski mountain. The breakfast spread is adequate but not plentiful. The buffet spread is more Korean bias than international. The golfers also use the same restaurant for the halfway break meals. Recommend this place to stay as number one choice for ski enthusiasts as the resort has more than ski activities.

I woke up at the high1 palace hotel found out I mistakenly took somebody else’s luggage and since I spoke no Korean I could only ask the hotel for help and luckily all the staffs at the front desk was so helpful specially the front desk manager Bo-young Kim. She called every possible number, came up to the room to see if inside the luggage had any contact detail. At the end she got it done. After I exchanged suitcases back I wanted to show my appreciation and left a tip at the reception for Miss Kim. When I came back to the room I found under the door a letter , some candies, with the tip I gave miss Kim returned inside the letter which Miss Kim wrote and also a letter from Kim saying it was her job to help me and she was happy she could get it done and wish me a great stay in Korea. I’ve stayed at probably around 30 hotels so far in my life and I’ve never seen someone as eager to help as Miss Kim and not even asking/accepting for any return and this really touched my heart.

Front office staff speak little English but they try their best to help. If you have a bit of time to spare, take the free gondola to the top of the mountain. A scenic 15 min ride (one way). Room is spacious, hotel breakfast is good.
