Gwangju Palace Tourist Hotel

Nice hotel, right in the city centre. Manage speaks bit of English, anyway sufficient to be of help. Large room and bathroom with all facilities incl. WiFi. Walk our of the hotel and you are direct in busy shopping streets. Nights were quiet, had a good sleep, nothing to worry about.

There are not a lot of hotels in Gwangju, from websites, honestly, most look pretty sketchy. We stayed here because friend recommend that it is at the center of Gwangju. Yes, honestly, it is convenient. It looks quite sketchy still downstairs, but once up to the rooms, they look quite normal. It's old, but clean and quiet. Afterall that's what you need for a vacation.

The hotel was ok for the number of stars. The Pros: the room was large, had good a/c and heat, big bathroom, computer with Internet, flat screen tv, mini fridge, tea kettle, blow drier, and toiletries. The location was fantastic. The Cons: worst cleaning ever ( I found lots of hairs the first day that we're not ours), the hotel is above a night club so you hear the base all night long, no one speaks any English, the bed is really hard and the sheets felt like paper, they gauged us on the price ( my Korean friend requested a double for two nights and they said 100,000 won total, but they played dumb and gave us a triple for 170,000 total, 15,0000 more than our friends upstairs)... Next time we're staying somewhere else...
