Hotel Yegrina

A local hotel near Incheon international airport. It can be reached by the Maglev for free. There is a beach in front of the hotel, tidal pools and mudflats where you can catch crabs and shellfish. You can borrow tools to go digging in the mudflats from the front desk. The front desk does not seem to be fluent in English, so keep this in mind. The room is clean and has air conditioning, computer, TV, fridge. There is a coffee machine and free drinks in front of the front desk. Good for the price.

It was extremely difficult to get in contact with them. They rarely bother to answer the phones, and never reply to emails. On the one occasion that someone did pick up, he said no one spoke English, and told me to instead call the information desk at Incheon airport. He gave me a number for them, but it was the wrong number. I googled a number, and the information desk said "um... Why would we have any information about this random hotel? You should call the hotel." We just wanted to ask about the shuttle buses, but we had no choice but to cancel our reservation and book somewhere else.

Great little hotel by the beach! Take the (currently) free Maglev from ICN to the end station Yongyu, or hotel offers free shuttle service. Super clean room. Yes, mattresses are quite hard but I get a good night's sleep with those! Nice walk to some good local seafood restaurants along the coast, or take the Maglev to the new luxury Paradise City hotel/casino (food prices are outrageous though!) If the rooster's early morning call might wake you, get a room on the south-western side of the hotel (there is a backyard farm adjacent to the north-east corner of the hotel). Such a great genuine local location I wouldn't mind coming back for a longer stay to eat seafood and do some hiking in the nearby scenic spots without even bothering going into Seoul again - maybe even join the locals clamming on the mudflats at low tide and take the finds to a local restaurant and get them to cook them!
