Areumdaun Resort

if u rented a car in jeju and want to stay around Seong San Il Chool bong, i recommend you to stay at this accommodation. Its clean, safe, spaceous car park and asolute sea view rooms. Its 30 seconds to access to coatal walk which is so becautiful and safe. My family went out in the night and walking along sea shore. A lot of families with kids were there around 10pm.

We were on a self-drive trip and stayed in Areumdaun Resort for a night in June 2013. Areumdaun is a 5-10mins drive away from Seongsan but away from all other attractions. It's good to stay here if you drive as there is a huge carpark available. However, it has nice sea view. There was nothing much to do there at night. There is a restaurant near there which serves delicious seafood soup. Room was huge with twin beds and a bar counter. However, it could do better with a bath tub. Breakfast was simple yet appetizing. We could also see some horses at the backyard. A good place to stay if you are looking for some time to relax and rest as there are no attractions nearby.

Locating this place was a nightmare! With the hotel's telephone number keyed in, the GPS brought us to an off-road track that presumably ended nowhere. As we arrived at night it was rather harrowing, luckily for us our rented vehicle was a 4x4 SUV and we didn get stuck in th muddy track. Upon our arrival with the help of my iphone's GPS, we saw that the stupid rental car GPS was about to bring us to the back of the hotel. Anyway my rant above was through no fault of the hotel, just want to warn other travellers who rent vehicles from Avis that their GPS sucks and not to rely on it. Hotel frontage was modern, fresh and facing the sea. Rooms were very spacious and had a kitchen, fridge coffee maker microwave etc... As with most hotels in Korea, they had teeny bath towels that were fit for Elves. Reception closes at 10pm so get what you need before they go back. AC remote had to be obtained from the reception but it did not seem to work so we had to open the window for cool air. This meant that we could hear every conversation going on in the car park below. Free wifi was blazingly fast! The free Breakfast was rather unappetising for they only had scrambled eggs and some kinda sausages. If we had stayed there for longer, we would have skipped it altogether after 2 days. Convenience store and restaurants are within walking distance (2-3mins walk). Nice sunrise view but it was hampered by the overcast conditions. a mere 10 mins drive to the Sunrise peak.
