Shilla stay Jeju Airport

Need to explain, therefore it became a longer review.... Stayed here for one night as the grand finale of our Jeju road trip. The location was undeniably convenient, just 2.5 km from the airport. A nice touch was that parking for our rental car was included, even though the pricing sign at the entrance barrier could easily send your brain into interpretive gymnastics. The Shilla Stay markets itself as a brand-new premium business hotel. In reality, it only partially lives up to that claim. The cracks started showing at check-in. I was reminded not once, not twice, but three times about the check-out time the next day. Three. Times. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Naturally, I must have looked a bit puzzled. Laundry service is unavailable for one-night stays. We would have happily handed something in overnight. I may not be traveling as a business guest, but what if I needed a shirt washed or pressed in a so-called premium business hotel? The rooms are on the smaller side. Fair enough. The bed is comfortable, the linens are good, and everything is very clean. The design is modern and minimal, which works. But there are no hangers to actually hang anything. The bathroom features a bathtub-shower combo, which feels outdated for something supposedly brand new. A bathtub sounds nice in theory, but in practice it is simply not very functional and more on the dangerous side nowadays... The real "highlight", unfortunately for all the wrong reasons, was the air conditioning. When we entered the room, it was 26°C, despite outside temperatures of around 12°C and dropping significantly overnight. We turned it on and headed into town for dinner. After three hours, it had heroically “cooled” the room down to 23°C. With a setting of 18°C, we optimistically hoped for something close to 20°C eventually. Not a chance. At 2.30 a.m., I woke up drenched in sweat. Room temperature back at 26°C. Seriously? Reception’s explanation was almost impressive in its simplicity. Some guests had found it too cold, so they adjusted it. For everyone. In a modern building. Individual room control apparently is not part of the premium experience. Opening the windows was not a viable workaround either, thanks to thick curtains and significant street noise, even on the 8th floor. Breakfast was genuinely good. Solid selection, including freshly prepared egg dishes. The temperature up there was pleasant, and the view from the 12th floor was a nice bonus. Unfortunately, a good breakfast cannot undo a poor, sweaty night. I raised the issue again at check-out and received a polite bow and an apology. That was it. Frankly, I expected more. So the final verdict is carried almost entirely by the breakfast and the included parking. Otherwise, the relatively high price and what you're getting for simply is not justified - for Jeju.

Located in the new part of Jeju-si and there Pretty close to the city center. In the immediate vicinity there are many shops and dining options. The rooms at the hotel looked very modern and the facilities are good. I also got 2 bottles of water a day for free. The view is limited as you are just in the middle of the city.

Good location to shop and have food along the alley way. Room was good and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. About 15mins walk to Lotte mart. Bus stop in front of hotel has a bus heading to the airport. Staff helpful & speaks English
