B My Guesthouse

It is a very nice guesthouse in the city centre, Myengdong. Just 5 minutes walk away from the night market, metro station and airport shuttle. It may be confusing to find it from Google maps. I suggest to walk on Google maps see the street pictures before you go. Then it is very easy to find. There is E-mart store a minute walk away. The hike is not so bad actually. We stayed in first floor with 1 bunkbed. The room was designed very smart. Every cm is used for another facility. You can see what I mean if you check the pictures I added. It is only 10 sqm but it feels like 20-25 sqm. Very smart. Beds are very hard. It may not be very comfortable if you suffer back pain. But they help you with extra blankets, that helps. If you ask a matt for this they may charge you. So it may be a good idea if you take some matts with you to the guesthouse. Other than that everything is so good. You feel like as you were staying in a hotel. He may not be around all the time but if you leave a message to reception he gets back to you for sure. You should leave the window open when you are away or when you are in the room to refresh the air in the room(however you feel safer). Then you do not get any bad smelling. There is a window lock to make sure nobody comes in from the window. The A/C water goes to the bathroom with a hidden way, this is strange but as long as you do not leave your clothes on the bathroom floor there is no problem. Do not leave your clothes or belongings on the bathroom floor to avoid them getting wet. very wet. Room has many plugs, bedlight, A/C works well, mosquito repellent(we did not suffer any single mosquito), a pier glass and hanger behind it, phone, torch, flatscreen tv, bath is super good, a room scent (not sure when they changed it because there is spiderweb on it:) , slippers in the room and different slippers in bathroom, a qıblah direction on the ceiling(be careful my compass shows a little dfferent angle), there is very much enough space for praying matt, a doormatt when you come out of the bathroom(I like it), a small fridge, hair dryer, water boiler,fire estinguisher. So many things in a small room with very good space remaining. I stayed with my little daughter without any problem. I choose B My Guesthouse after reading some positive reviews and balancing that with good value for money. We had a room with bunk beds and although the room was very compact, it had a fridge, kettle, hair dryer and decent shower room. A communal kitchen area was downstairs with free tea/coffee, cooking facilities and drinking water. The owner Ji was a great host, so helpful and couldn't do enough for us - he got us tickets on the DMZ tour for a really good price. The guesthouse had a family feel to it, was minutes walk to the Myeongdong shopping area and metro stations. If ever I returned to Seoul, I would have no hesitation to stay here again.

Location is very strategic, few walks away to Namsan Cable car and Myeongdong shopping center. Blocks away from GS25 convenience store if you want fast food for breakfast. Location is quiet unlike in Myeongdong which is very touristy/noisy. Hotel owner Ji is very accommodating, answers inquiries very fast before the date of our trip. Fresh Towels everyday, and the complimentary coffee is very generous. Room is clean, the faucet in the bathroom is broken when we get there but my uncle managed to fix it since he knows the job. When you arrived at the hotel 10PM onward, there won't be any staff anymore but we managed to do the Self-service Check-in as instructed by the owner, it's very easy so no worries. Thumbs up for the price, location and hospitality.
