Hotel First Stay Myeongdong

My floor (the third) was filled with Chinese people. I’m ethnically Hong Kong myself, but my god these people were noisy as treetrunk. when I spoke to the front desk, he came up to speak to the noisier rooms (I.e. basically all of them). They became irate and violently aggressive about it. I would never stay here again and would recommend it if you’re someone who shares an affinity with those who have no consideration for others and a general lack of basic human courtesy. I don’t blame the staff for not being able to rectify the situation, but just know that this spot is popular with noisy Chinese tourist who don’t give half a crap about how much noisy they make past 11pm. Oh and you know what really takes the cake? One guest said in Chinese that we probably can’t stay at a better hotel because we have no money. Well lucky for me I speak not only English and korean but also Chinese (my second childhood language). Should have seen the look on their faces. We didn’t sleep. Bathroom: well maintained but the lack of ventilation also means that the grouting gets mouldy easily. The tiles should be re-grouted.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tong. If you want house keeping you just have to ask. They told us about this at check in. Room clean. Large bathroom. No laundry facilities close to this hotel. Reception staff polite. Close to subway stations. Plenty of restaurants close by.

Hotel Tong is located within a two minute walk of Seoul's City Hall subway station exit 7. We got a triple room, it came with one double bed and a twin bed. The room came with free WiFi and basic amenities. Although it was a bit small for three, we have no complaints given the price we paid. Housekeeping staff will not clean your room every day, you will need to make arrangements with the front desk for cleaning services. Further, you cannot control the temperature of the floor heating from your room, you will need to ask the front desk to make any adjustments. While the hotel does not offer food and beverage services, it is attached to a cafe on the first floor and is also within walking distance from Myeong-dong and Insa-dong. Overall, Hotel Tong is a decent budget hotel located in the heart of Seoul, I would definitely stay here again.
