Tori Hotel

Easy to find and close to the subway. The staff was very friendly and even carried my bags to my room in the third floor. But, the room smelled like smoke and the bathroom was extremely small. I do not know how I would have taken a shower there. Also, there was a lot of mildew. Breakfast is served at 07:30- 10:00.

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. It is a bed & breakfast style hotel. My flight to leave Seoul was at 4am and I needed to catch the last airport bus to the hotel. The guy at the front desk helped me to look up the timetable and directed me to the bus stop. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the bus never came and at 1am in the morning I began to panic about how I was going to get to the airport (I only had 20,000WON on me.) I went back to the hotel and the staff behind the desk kindly helped me to exchange some of my foreign currency to WON and gave me an additional 20k WON to help me cover a taxi to the airport. I found him exceptionally kind and I highly rate the hotel. It is an excellent location with easy access to the popular tourist destinations. Too bad the Korean transportation aren't as good as the service provided by this hotel. I highly recommend Tori Hotel to guests.

I stayed two nights in Tori. I chose this budget hotel because it is so close to Ewha University Station and Hongik University (the key area to explore in this trip). Location: 3-min walk from Exit 6 of Ewha University. 5-8 mins to the major shopping area and cafes in Ewha. Airport coach runs to Ewha (but I took the cheaper and faster subway). Do ask front desk for help if you are carrying huge luggage. Room: The size of single room is actually bigger than my expectation (big enough to open my 24 inch luggage). However, the bathroom is tiny (very frank here). I managed to had enough space being a 5ft9 guy. Free bottled water in room and simple breakfast (on 3/F). One drawback of most budget hotel is ..you can always hear noise in the next room or corridor. Service: The front desk guy can speak good engish in general and help me fixed my proket wifi problem (Big thanks to him). Quickest check-out as guests just need to place the room key in the front desk and go. Of course, if you need a strong guy for your 20+ kg luggage, call for help in advance.
