Hotel Nostalgia

This was the anchor of our round-world trip. We chose this place due to its location in the Bukchon area. The place was incredible. A short walk up a hill, our villa had everything from a little garden to a foot spa. We wish we had more time in Seoul. Definitely returning here.

Hotels.com booked this foe me by mistake, ie wrong country!! I cancelled to book Hotel Nostalgia in another country. Hotel Nostalgia, South Korea, to date, have not refunded the money they owe. So no real rating on hotel facilities, never stayed, but as a hotel involving money they rate very lowly.

I stayed in October 2015 for a week at this hotel coming from USA and it was a good experience. Price about 80$ per night, very clean sheets and comfortable bed. Breakfast available daily for about 7$ in the lobby Cafeteria- nice surprise since was not noted on their website. Info: they provide sleepers, toiletries, hairdryer ( Italian style), towels, matches (for smokers if the case), shower robe, dry cleaning). The staff is friendly and knows English but not extensive. Hotel is within walking distance to lots of Coffee shops (Drop Top, Angel in Us etc..), and Mini and Street Restaurants ( Topokki, soups etc... best if you know in Korean (written on paper) what you want to buy because menus are in Korean only unless is an international level restaurant) and a Convenience store ( just on hotel's street and the one parallel with the street in front of the hotel). Zone is safe even for women traveling alone. Taxi are very cheap (from hotel to Gyeongbokgung Palace or National Museum of History the trip is about 15$ and travel takes about 30-35 min with traffic.) 1330 is the phone number to reach english speaking line for tourist info. The hotel is rated 4 Mugunghwas ( something like "stars") and is part of " Best Night in Korea " program. (clean and cozy within a decent price from what I figured out) Is cozy and the décor and lobby reminds of Europe. It has free Wi-Fi. They have a glass elevator with nice view. Emergency light and fire escape device available with instructions in English. PS: The only thing I would like them to take care of is the carpet. I the hallway and room- it is worn out and is dragging the overall experience down few points.
