Let’s be clear: this hotel has lived much better days! It leaves the curious impression of a place left a little abandoned like the terrace and reception. There is no bar or breakfast room and the rooms deserve a serious refreshment like the whole hotel. However, the Korea is remarkably well placed (one of the most beautiful palaces is a few hundred meters away on foot and there are a multitude of small restaurants next door) and in terms of rates it is one of the most affordable in a city where the hotel is globally very expensive. If we add to this an absolutely adorable staff, it is frankly a good address (but be careful to choose your room well because some are much smaller than others with sometimes the unfortunate tendency to stick the beds against the walls!).

Pros: It's not my first time staying at this hotel. It's location has always been one of its strengths. Located near Jongno-3-ga wherein 3 subway lines meet. Walking distance from an Airport bus stops and from key tourist areas. Rooms are not that very new anymore but okay for those after a no fuss, affordable accommodation. There's a 7-Eleven located in the first floor and there area lot of traditional restaurants nearby. Cons: Centralize aircon was not working during out stay. Thankfully it's still cold since it is early spring. -Breakfast is not offered anymore post pandemic but kinda understandable

My friends and I stayed at Hostel Korea Changdeokgung in December 2019. Location was good as it is very near Changdeokgung palace, Insadong, Bukchon Hanok Village. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was the normal fare of toast, coffee, eggs. However, the lobby has no heating system and was very cold during our stay at wintertime.
