The location of the guesthouse at MyeongDong is very close to the metro station. About 3 mins by walking, you can access to the metro and the main shopping area which is very convenient. Food, department stores and convenient stores are extremely accessible, and even the post office is just at the corner. The staff of the guesthouse were very hospitable and helpful. The two things I was not happy with, firstly was the shower system. The water pressure was not enough and the hot water was not stable. Secondly the soundproof was bad so light sleepers might have to consider it carefully.

Stayed in a double bunk bed room at level 3. The room comes with a smart toilet and the building is still new and in relatively clean and good condition. Good location too but the toilet and bathroom had to share one sliding glass door (i.e. you could not close both at the same time). Quite uncomfortable if you are not staying alone.

We struggled to find this place; the road listed as the address (where we booked) was nowhere to be found on a map. The hotel didn't contact us or simply tell us to turn at the teeny tiny sign they've put on one of the main roads - simple thing but would've saved us the uphill hike with luggage. We were warmly welcomed, into a lobby that looks absolutely nothing like the pictures online, but perfectly adequate. The elevator was a welcome respite from bag-heaving, and we were shown to our room. The host was concerned enough to tell us how to operate the shower, TV, wifi etc. which despite our exhaustion, meant no questions later. Our bunks were cute, it's certainly small in there but you get what you pay for. The bathroom is well equipped but prepare to elbow the doors a lot - I'm 5ft and routinely bashed myself (to be fair, I'm also hella clumsy). Nice japanese-style toilet seats provided us with endless entertainment, the mattresses were comfortable and you'll get a real down duvet. However, you won't need it because there are no controls for the underfloor heating in the room, and you will wake up feeling like boil-in-the-bag rice. We had to leave the window and door open for a while to restore our sanity. There's a phone in your room, kinda odd for a budget hotel - it will be used at 10.02am sharp to remind you, twice, that it's time to check out. Despite our bathroom flooding like the banks of the Nile every time we showered, housekeeping just bunged more towels down. But hey! You get housekeeping! Who will also try to come in during peak sleep-time (we're night owls). We never made it to breakfast as it's only served 7-9am, and considering the night market here doesn't open until 11pm.... uhm. Nope. My friend wanted to stay on for 2 more nights without me, and despite trying to pay there and then and see if she could stay in the same room, they decided to offer us double the online price so we said no. Packed our bags and re-booked online. To be told at 10.30am after multiple annoying phonecalls and housekeeping requests, my friend was in fact staying on in our heated aquarium room. There is great potential here, but I feel like something has gone awry with the management...!
