AC PALACIO DEL CARMEN, AUTOGRA

Marriott hotel. Great city, good location, bang average hotel. No water unless you ask even in a heatwave. Shower turned itself on and off involuntarily. Poor breakfasts, been a couple of days before being offered cooked breakfast rather than stuff sitting around for quite a while, didn’t refill room in terms of things like tissues etc. Had to go down to reception at 01.15 to ask them to stop people making a noise which prevented any sleep, Wi-Fi patchy.

My wife and I have been coming here for years, and we just spent a month there visiting family and hosting our 25th wedding anniversary. The Palacio is a wonderful hotel, with a good location in a quiet spot a few minutes from the Cathedral. The rooms are comfortable, the service by the management and staff is excellent, and the newly re-designed bar and restaurant create an interior and exterior (with the garden and patio) space that you want to spend time in. Our guests (about 25 stayed here) consistently sang their praises for the hotel and the staff, saying they felt like family. If you want to have a party or event, give the Palacio a very close look. They were very easy to work with and accommodated every request. They showed high flexibility in terms of spaces needed for the cocktail and lunch/dance, including allowing us to decide at the last minute if the cocktail would be outdoors or in-the weather ultimately cooperated. The food was excellent—our difficulty was in making the menu choices from the extensive selection offered, and it all came out fresh and at the right temperature-no mean feat for catering 7 tables. All in all, excellent value and service beyond our hopes! Thanks to everyone at the Palacio for making our anniversary unforgettable!

A very nice hotel. The rooms are a bit dark, so you almost always need light. However, since you are mostly there only at night, that hardly matters. The furnishings in the restaurant are very exclusive. The breakfast buffet is sufficient. The staff at the reception was particularly good, especially Mr. Karel Zelenka, who advised us very well and gave us many tips. He speaks German very well, which was very pleasant for us. Overall, our stay at this hotel was excellent.
