The Parador was lovely and so were the rooms. Dinner and breakfast was good. Staff were great in reception and in the restaurant EXCEPT a waitress called Inez or Ines. She was unwelcoming on both evenings when we arrived. Throughout the time at our table she was quite curt bordering on being very rude. She huffed and puffed when we asked for an ice bucket for our wine. We were made to feel as if we were being nuisances. The other waitresses were lovely.

The accommodation and breakfast are of average quality. What surprises is the discovery of a nearby church and a view of historical significance. Before the visitor lies that vast battlefield of "Vittoria," where Wellington defeated the Napoleonic troops in 1812. What Beethoven sought to honor the following year with a - overall problematic - composition. Gherardino

This Parador is one of my favorites for its location and tranquility, which is why I feel very sorry to have to leave such a critical review. In November 2025, we stayed and my review was 5/5 in all categories (Service, rooms, location). On this occasion, we were there the first week of June and we noticed a tremendous decline in customer service. Normally, if we arrive later than 8:00 PM, we notify the Parador; on this occasion, it was completely impossible to contact them, not even the central reservation office of Paradores was able to help us by speaking with them and informing them; no one answered the phone all afternoon. One night during our stay at the Parador, we decided to go down for a drink at the café; there were three waiters attending, we sat at a table and after waiting for more than 20 minutes, we had to go ask at the counter if they served at the table, if we needed to order at the bar, or if they simply did not serve. One of the waiters commented that his colleague would take our order; the surprise was when that waiter told us that he did not have time to take our order because he was with the cash register, and that we should wait. He finished doing whatever he was doing and without saying anything, he walked out the door and left. Another waiter arrived and we asked him again if they served or not; he replied that if his colleague had not taken our order, we told him no, and he took our order. We sat at the table, they brought us the drinks, and we saw that at the table right next to us, they had just ordered drinks, which were brought along with some appetizers. It's not that we mind, but it reflects a lack of professionalism and attention to customers. That’s not all; when we went to pay to charge it to the room, since it had been over an hour without seeing any waiter in the room, we got up to the counter again and saw two waiters. We told them to charge it to the room, and the response was, "Wait, I have to clear a table, and when I return, I will take your signature." We were left speechless; this is not the inn we used to visit, where the service shone with professionalism, attention, and care for details with all customers. As for the rooms, they are less soundproof; you can hear the doors closing with very loud bangs. It is a shame that the quality and caliber of their workers have declined so much, and as I said, it pains me to have to write this review. I hope it was just a one-time issue that we experienced and not the case for the rest of the customers, but if those are the responses they give, I find it hard to believe that I am the only one.
