Tropic Relax

Another year and everything was wonderful as always; the staff's treatment is fantastic. This hotel is a safe bet; keep it up, thank you for giving us a very good vacation.

The hotel is older and certainly updated but could probably use more love. The rooms are small but refurbished and the cleaning is blameless. The pool very small but the possibility to use the sister hotel's (across the street) if you want. However, I think if both hotels are full, pool areas can not handle all. We had full board but quickly realized that it was not for us. Breakfast ok, but some vegetable would have been appreciated. You can get by with English, but basic knowledge of Spanish helps. Good would be if information signs could also be in English. The stay was ok, nothing was really wrong, but we had probably chosen another hotel if we went to the area again, you get what you pay for.

We booked Hotel Tropic Relax for a 6 night holiday. We arrived quite late at night, we were welcomed by a friendly member of staff who checked us in. They also kindly had saved us some cold plates of food on our arrival. The hotel is very clean and kept very well. Our room was a little small for our family of four, but that was our own error on booking. The room is quite tight for two double beds, we had two adults and two teenagers. I would recommend having no more than two people per room. There was a balcony and nice bathroom. They supply towels, shower gel and shampoo. There is nothing else, a kettle with tea facilities would have been nice and a fridge to keep things cool. Something we noticed is that the hotel is prodimently Spanish, the clientele was mostly older Spanish when we visited. This is a lovely quiet area and I would recommend for young families, older people or for people who prefer to stay in a quieter area but with very easy access to busier spots. They offer hotel entertainment on alternative nights at both the Hotel Tropic Relax and Hotel Alone but it is targeted for their Spanish guests. We had booked breakfast and lunch or dinner. The food was mostly Spanish, and they could do with changing up the choices a little but mostly it was fine. If you have lunch or dinner you have to pay for water or any drinks. Tea and coffee is not available at this time unless you pay for it. If I were to stay again I think breakfast would have been enough and eat out for the other meals. The staff were fine, alot did not speak English. The reception staff were the most helpful and friendly. There is a lift and stair option and wheelchair access into the hotel. Although I'm not sure how accessible the rest of the hotel is. The pool area is small and the sunbathing options very limited. You do have use of Hotel Alone swimming pool which is bigger with a slide and better set up for sunbathing so do make use of this if you stay. Note they do not offer towel hire so you need to bring your own beach and swimming towels. The location to get to other places is very good. We were able to enjoy the beautiful beach at La Cala de finestrat. This beach is absolutely fabulous and one of the highlights. There are also gorgeous bars, restaurants and ice cream there along with some nice shops if you want to pick up some souvenirs. You can also take the no.2 or no 54 bus into Benidorm centre if you'd like to take a look. Going during the day is probably best especially if you have young children. The beautiful Atlea is also worth a trip! Our room was cleaned each day, and we were able to leave our bags at the hotel on the last morning. Very little insects or bugs anywhere which was nice!
