PROTUR ROQUETAS HOTEL & SPA

My fiancé, my son, my parents and I recently stayed here, and what an amazing hotel it is! The staff are absolutely fantastic — so friendly, welcoming and attentive. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they really made us feel at home throughout our stay. The food was absolutely amazing. There was such a huge variety of dishes, with lots of different cuisines to choose from, and every evening the food was beautiful. Fussy eaters may struggle slightly with the variety, but for us, we loved trying something different each night and looked forward to seeing what was on offer. The entertainment was brilliant. Our son is 2 (almost 3) and thoroughly enjoyed himself. The kids’ disco was fantastic, and the entertainment team did a great job of getting everyone involved. There was a different show every evening, so there was always something to look forward to. We usually love exploring the surrounding area when we go away, but there was honestly no need here because the hotel itself was so fun-filled. The pools are unlike any hotel we’ve stayed at before. The lazy river is such an amazing addition! Our son is quite nervous around water, but he absolutely loved every pool in the hotel, including the children’s pool. The only small thing to mention is that the lazy river can get quite warm during the day, although obviously that’s not something the hotel can really control. The rooms were well equipped, spacious and cleaned daily, so we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We also have to mention how stunning the hotel lobby is! So tranquil & picturesque! The only issue we experienced was with reserving sunbeds. The hotel states that sunbeds cannot be reserved before 8am, but when my fiancé got up early to go for a run along the seafront, he noticed that some sunbeds had already been reserved at around 7:30am. There also wasn’t a huge amount of space around the pools. Perhaps the hotel could consider introducing a 30-minute rule, where if guests reserve a sunbed with a towel but don’t return within 30 minutes, the towel is removed and the sunbed becomes available for other guests. We noticed a few sunbeds that appeared to be reserved from early morning until around 6pm, despite nobody using them for most of the day, with guests returning later in the afternoon or evening. This did feel a little unfair when other guests were having to sit on the grass or around the sides of the pools. Of course, this is ultimately down to guests being considerate of one another, but perhaps a policy like this could help prevent it. Other than that, we had a truly fabulous stay and would be very likely to return. We regularly stay in 5-star hotels, and this one genuinely impressed us. The combination of the fantastic staff, food, entertainment, pools and family-friendly atmosphere made it a brilliant holiday for all of us. We would definitely recommend it and would happily stay again!

We have just returned from a fantastic week. We had upgraded to a suite, so our boys had their own bedroom, so much space lots of little extra , flowers , fruit plates , dressing gowns / slippers I celebrated my birthday & they brought a personalised birthday cake. Lovely touches of branded fizzy drinks and water in the room fridge - topped up daily! The pool area is fantastic , loved the lazy river - the afternoon at the splash park was super quiet - the perfect time To go. I would note that towels around the main pool area down and reserved by 7.30/8am! The hotel is located on the beach - it’s a shingle beach so water shoes are an absolute must. We didn’t explore the local area but there is a spa just a stones throw from the hotel - which we used a few times We didn’t get the chance to eat in the restaurants but so much variety at the buffet - themed nights - Indian / Chinese / Mexican / Spanish etc! meats and cheeses( always pleases ) / salads / meat of the day / burgers / chips / sausages for the kids ! Bottles of wines / jugs of sangria all served as part of the all inclusive Breakfast was our favourite meal Of the day! Everything you’d want from a buffet and more. Lovely touches throughout the hotel with very helpful and accommodating staff. Would Absolutely recommend!

Trip the second week of August with a 3-year-old child To start with, it has little of a 5-star hotel, 4 and barely scraping by, super old and very deteriorated rooms, very repetitive food and of mediocre quality, some days it was passable, but day after day more of the same, it didn't matter if it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. In our case, we went with all-inclusive, during the day where we could get food, there is a hot food area and a cold one, the latter upon entering gives off a disgusting smell of sewage, basically it takes away your appetite, entertainment totally nonexistent and when there was something it couldn't be more dull, basically a total disaster. In general, don't expect a real 5-star hotel because it is lacking a lot, they have a significant lack of staff, I don't understand so many comments saying it is very good, everything is super good, I will repeat.... We will not repeat like many other people we talk to. Good things, proximity to the beach, pools, the one for little ones is great, friendliness of the staff and that the all-inclusive gives you the option to eat at the pool itself without entering the dining room. I would take away 2 stars, regards
