Begona Hotel

Very bad, no air conditioning, old, the location is good, they charged me twice for the hotel and they don't even know what happened, it is the first time in 30 years that this has happened to me, the solution that it could be a bank problem, very bad, I will not return nor do I recommend it.

We stayed 8 days and 7 nights, and as soon as we arrived, they made us pay for the stay, a strange thing that has never happened to us at any hotel (that must be so you don't run away); even so, we paid without arguing, and they put us in room 101. According to what the receptionist said (Nuria, if my memory serves me correctly), we had juices and coffee from the machine during the day; the only thing I managed to get was water because there was never any juice or coffee; in fact, on the last night, there was a "not working" sign stuck on the machine. The rooms were very hot; we had to hang t-shirts from the sliding door curtain because it didn't block the light from the windows; the room became like an oven during the day. Did I already mention that there was no air conditioning? The photos that appear have nothing to do with reality. If you hit the wall with your hand, dust comes off; carpeted hallways, the room lamp was broken; the first night the television remote didn't work; the second night a light bulb burned out; we were already waiting to see what the next thing would be. In the bathroom, it was impossible to regulate the shower water; you either froze or you boiled. There was also no refrigerator; we ended up putting the few food items we had in the closet. On the last day, we spoke with Laura, the hotel manager. We will return to Gijón but NEVER to that hotel.

I will start my review by highlighting the kindness of the reception staff, as well as the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom. That said, my complaint is about the "deception" you experience when booking through Booking, mainly when seeing the photographs. We trusted that what was already renovated (the hotel is under construction) but the reality has been different (I will include photographs). Apart from the fact that starting at 6:30, the street noise was significant, they soon began drilling, which they have the right to do, yes, but they should notify. It has been a bad experience, mostly salvaged by, as I wrote before, the personal treatment and the cleanliness of the stay.
