This is in a rural location so make sure you know where it is, but what a place! Very small and run by one guy who also runs the bar and restaurant next door. Beautiful rooms with loads of personal details like organic products, lovely chocolates, bottles of water, individual decorations etc. Very comfortable and silent at night. Only 6 rooms, but each one really different. Only point is that parking (secured with entrance card but open to people walking) is down the hill, so you need to unload luggage at the tiny entrance to the hotel and then drive car down to parking - but this is a minor point and the whole place is so small that it feels very safe. The restaurant next door run by the same guy is wonderous - some of the best food ever! Very generous portions, home cooked, great wine and lovely service. The same for breakfast - all home made and totally delicious. Couldn't recommend this enough!

This hotel is located in a magnificent rural area of Asturias with really wonderful scenery. We are a mature couple and were looking for somewhere quiet where walking and sightseeing was possible. After taking the Saint Nazaire-Gijon ferry, we had about a 45 minutes drive to Cenera which is quite close to Mieres. We stayed overnight travelling from Gijon to Salamanca. The staff were very friendly both for reception and in the restaurant. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The free wifi worked fine. We took our evening meal in the hotel's restaurant which is in a separate building a few metres down the same side of the road. The menu seemed a bit expensive and we asked for and were offered a 3-course menu and wine at €9,90 per person which was excellent value for money and very good quality. Service was courteous and with a smile, bravo ! Breakfast (which was included in the price) was also served in the restaurant on the ground floor by the bar. A typical Asturias-style spread of toast, cake and cold meats and very enjoyable. The hotel is quite small so some facilities that you might sometimes expect (swimming pool, terrace etc) were a bit limited but that didn't bother us. The staff didn't speak English but we managed in French as they spoke a little. The only downside was that the local sights to see were not so straight forward to find. But then we didn't have a lot of time and so just walked around which was relaxing. It's not however, a hotel for you if you are looking for amenities and lots of things to do locally with kids. We thoroughly recommend this hotel for its good value, food, great scenery and warm, agreeable staff.
