Melia Hotel de la Reconquista

THE luxury hotel to stay at in Oviedo - incredible comfortable with an amazing open area foyer and a beautiful open-court outdoor area behind it. The staff is incredibly accommodating (although we did have one evening where we couldn't find anyone at the front desk (???)). Rooms are beautifully decorated and have all modern facilities. Extremely comfortable. Great location with restaurants and shops nearby - and a short walk to the Catedral. Would definitely stay there again.

It took us more than an hour and a half to be able to reach the hotel due to street closures in the surrounding area for the Oviedo festivities. We called to request some solution and none was provided to us, nor were we informed of what was going to happen so we could take it into account. After all this, the hotel did not have any gesture for us. Furthermore, for a 5-star hotel, the sliding bathroom door made a horrible noise and it seemed like it was going to fall apart every time. It is a shame that a hotel with such renown does not reach the standards of its 5 stars in any aspect.

If a 5-star hotel has the nerve to send a couple of guests to room 152, who moreover pay like the others, it lets you understand their integrity. Indescribably small bathroom, not even in a 2-star hotel. Excellent location and adequate breakfast, the service is not bad either. It is a shame to have ruined my vacation.
