The space is nice, that is undeniable, but you quickly realize that the establishment is not at the four-star level that defines its category. First of all, the cold and impersonal treatment from the reception staff. Second of all, they gave me a very noisy room on the first floor that made it difficult for me to sleep because of the voices that could be heard in the hallways. The room lacked many amenities that a four-star hotel should have, and it was a nightmare for me to regulate the water in the bathtub. Although I did not say anything at the front desk, the final straw was before picking up my luggage. To kill time until my train, I wanted to have a coffee in peace before going to the station, and it was not possible despite there being more than a dozen tables or more without service in the interior courtyard restaurant (it was 4:15 in the afternoon). The excuse was that they were serving lunch, but practically all the tables were finishing up. I think it is a very ugly detail, especially for hotel guests. Certainly, I have been to quite a few hotel accommodations in Ávila and other places, and I have never seen anything like it. The solution they gave me was for me to go to another coffee shop, which demonstrates the attitude of the hotel staff that I mentioned earlier toward guests who have paid an excessive amount for what the hotel offers. I will not return, I am very clear about that because it is an accommodation with exterior charm but with many shortcomings in both the service and the attitude of the staff as well as in the rooms.

Excellent location, right in the heart of the historic centre of Avila. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and provide a pleasant stay. The building has a lot of charm and the quality-price ratio is excellent. The only less positive aspect is the service, which, although efficient, is poorly personalized, lacking some proximity and human warmth to make the experience more welcoming. Still, it is a great choice to visit Avila

The site is a very beautiful and charming old palace, right in the center of the city but very quiet. The staff is charming and the breakfast buffet is very varied and very good. We also liked the restaurant a lot. The value for money is remarkable. Perhaps I would say that the room lighting is not very good and the mattress was a bit hard for me.
