Overall this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. The hotel is elegant without feeling stodgy. It has an energy but not crazy. All of the staff I interacted with were great - friendly, helpful and nice. I ate at the rooftop terrace (great views of the city) and at SOLC. The waitstaff there was over the top, great recommendations and service. I highly recommend both. And, breakfast was also very good. A nice combination of buffet and à la carte. Again, just a great experience. The only thing I’d say is expect a bit of a wait at the bars (rooftop and main lobby). Maybe it’s what I’m used to in the US, but it seemed service was just a bit slow - slow to get a drink, to see about another round as well as getting the check. The drinks were outstanding as were the wait staff, I guess it took me a bit to get used to this. It was NOT poor service just a slower pace. Again, perhaps that’s Spain and I’m used to a different flow in the US. Just something to take into account if you have to be somewhere or have something scheduled (like a dinner reservation).
Again, I can’t say enough about the Majestic Barcelona. I hope to stay again and highly recommend it. I hope to find other cha Cres to use the brand in other parts of the world.
