Apartments Hostemplo Suites

The only positive aspects were the proximity to the Sagrada Familia and the main transportation options. Colorful rooms are advertised, with balconies and great views. Reasons why I chose this establishment despite the truly excessive price for 3 nights (more than 700 euros!!!). Our room WITHOUT a balcony, WITH A WALL VIEW!!!! Not to mention the MEAGER breakfast at the modest price of 14 euros per person per day. Absolutely not. I am sorry, but you have failed miserably. Looking back at the photos on the website, only ONE, and I mean ONE, referred to our mini apartment, but obviously nothing hinted at this disappointment. I would have liked to discuss it at check-out, but I was so disappointed that I let it go. They certainly would not have refunded me. I would have only gotten more angry! Yet the place was not sold out. They could have offered us a better room. What a shame!!!

I recently stayed at Apart-Suites Hostemplo and overall it was a mostly negative experience. The positives - the apartment itself is clean, and well-equipped. The balcony view of Sagrada Família is nice and definitely a highlight. However, there were some major downsides. The apartment is on a very busy road, so it can be quite noisy, but the biggest issue was the noise from inside the building. On our first night, we were woken up at 12:30am by what sounded like a party upstairs, with lots of people stomping around. This continued through the night, we were woken again at 3am and 6am, and it felt like the ceilings were so thin that every step was directly above us. We barely slept. We reported it to reception, and while the night porter did intervene and management said they contacted the guests, the noise continued throughout the stay, constant stomping, chairs scraping, and doors slamming, even at 5 in the morning. Unfortunately, nothing further was done. We weren’t offered a room change, and were just told to report it again if another party happened, which wasn’t very reassuring given how disruptive it was. I tried ear plugs as I needed to sleep for my busy planned days ahead but I could still hear my above neighbours at 5am talking loudly, stomping and moving chairs (cheers for that!) I believe reception should have moved them from the start of the trip as we were unable to feel relaxed from day 1 because of the constant noise. The ceilings are SO thin and apparently no-one sleeps in the apartment block, they just stomp around all night! For the price (over £1000), we really expected a good night’s sleep, and that just wasn’t the case. It honestly felt like someone was stomping on us most of the time. The beds are also quite uncomfortable and hard. The location is great for the Sagrada Família area, but slightly further out from other main parts of the city. Everything is about 20-60 minute walk away. Overall, an ok apartment in terms of space and amenities, but the ridiculous noise levels and lack of resolution from staff made it hard to fully enjoy the stay. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not.

1. Terrible electricity and fused system: The electricity supply broke down suddenly at night. All the lights and appliances shut down and the room was totally dark. The situation continued after the reception and the repairman came to check and both said that it was OK, but all the lights turned off again after they left for 10mins. We ask for changing to another room but was rejected. Even it was repaired next morning but it wasted much of our rest and travelling time. 2. Terrible water heating system: The water changes from warm to cold after you bathed for a while and water remains cold even you wait for a long time in the bathing room. A very very terrible, and "unbelievable" experience. 3. Poor mangement: We request 3 packed (take-away) breakfast for our family since we have to left very early in the next morning. The reception staff promised to prepare it one day before. However, when we wanted to get the breakfast as said, another reception staff said that it was not found in the fringe and didn't know why. Then he promised to reply to us whether it is possible to prepare it or not in the next morning . However, we didn't find any message replied in the next morning. The hotel still owes us the money for the 3 breakfasts, without any explanation from the management. 4. Feel being cheated: The actual building (without reception) you stayed is different from the photo given in the website. It's far away from the place it originally shown in the map (about 7-8 minutes walk) and this was not mentioned during the process of your booking.
