Easy location and perfect location. Close to the center. The person who attended us through the very friendly mobile and facilitated access to leave our bags before check in time. The room comfortable and clean although it lacked maintenance, something deteriorated that gave old feeling. It has a coffee and pastries area available at all times, a small communal fridge with a living room with tables and a good indoor terrace for a quiet and cozy coffee. Lack a bathroom in hallway outside the room. The quiet and quiet Mood. I wouldn't repeat but the experience was right.

The B&B was on the first floor (floor 'P') of a five floor apartment block. There were no obvious distinguishing signs on the entrance side of the street other than a small plastic plaque at the side of the door. However, viewed from across the street the first floor windows showed the name 'Bachome' in large type. We didn't recognise this name, and it was slightly confusing, because the name of our booking was 'Casa con Estilo Bruc'. We phoned 30 minutes in advance of our arrival as requested, but we were kept waiting an additional 20 minutes before we could get admitted to the apartment building. The contact explained to us that other guests had arrived at the same time as us in the owner's other B&B. Consequently, the contact person couldn't be in two places at the same time! Location The B&B is conveniently located within the city centre. Some of the main attractions can be reached by walking about 20 to 30 minutes (e.g. Casa Batlló). However, there is a bus stop and Metro station opposite the apartments on the same street. You can take bus B24 to Park Güell and the Metro an take you to most places provided you know which line to take! Cristian, our contact at the apartments, advised us buy the T-10 multi ticket as it was reasonably good value (about 10 Euro) and along with walking could get you to most places of interest. We did a lot of walking especially when there was a general strike (called to protest the violence during the referendum for independence) when there was no public transport and taxis wouldn't go into the city because of road blocks! We heard and saw the demonstrations as one of the main meeting points was not far from the B&B. Room Our room was small, bright, airy, and faced the street. The room was split level going down two steps to the bedroom with a double bed, two small bedside shelves, a brightly covered chair, and a small table. The bed was soft and springy and the bed linen seemed fresh and clean. The bathroom and a small wardrobe (with a safe) was on the higher level. The room had light pine wooden panel floors to match the flooring throughout the 'P' floor of the B&B. The small bathroom could comfortably fit only one person at a time and the walk-in shower was cramped. Complimentary water was provided only one time. Tea and coffee could not be made in the room, but could be made anytime up until 8pm in the shared kitchen. Air conditioning could be controlled manually, was very effective, and not too noisy. The free Wifi was good, no dropouts, no need to keep logging in, and fast. Staff Cristian was our main contact. He was friendly, helpful, and efficient. At check in he gave us a useful overview of the city, the main attractions, some restaurants and tapas places. Food Breakfast was included in the price of the room. The breakfast buffet was nicely presented in the 'kitchen' (really just an alcove where breakfast was served) and you could eat in the delightful adjoining dining/lounge room or out on the 'terrace'. The terrace was actually a roof top with wood plank and stone pebbles as the flooring. Tables, chairs, and sofas, were distributed around the roof top. The terrace was decorated with plastic grass, pot plants, and a small fountain. The dining room was airy, lit by two chandeliers, and a was a peaceful place to dine (when people are not talking on their mobile phone). There was a pleasant, and fulfilling, variety of food including the usual pastries, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, bread, and fruit. The hot dishes were scrambled eggs and ham. The tea and coffee was from a machine. There were lots of restaurants around, and within easy walking distance, of the B&B. However, most close at 4pm and reopen at 8pm. We liked 'Bruc 33 Tapas' because it was just one block from the B&B, they had good food, and it was open all day. Problems Noise and more noise! We had disturbed sleep because there was a LOT of noise from traffic, the deep rumbling of the underground trains, and from the busses at the bus stop across the street. We were told that the street was quiet and the room was soundproofed. The street wasn't quiet. The windows were double glazed, but it was not enough to filter out the noise (maybe we were just too close to all the noise?). The buses also seemed to use the stop as a temporary terminus. They would arrive, stop, idle for a while, cut the engine, wait for awhile, restart the engine, idle for awhile, and drive off again. The hot side of the mixer tap in the shower could get very hot and you could sustain a burn if not careful. The walk-in shower was small, slippery, did not drain quickly, and had no safety rail. We did not have any large bath towels one day and had to ask for them. Overall, a nice place in a good location, but terribly noisy. Don't get a room near the street!

Visited Barcelona as a family of 10 who all stayed in numerous hotels across the city. Bachome Terrace/Casa con Estillo is in a very good location. All sights can be walked to easily and there are Metro, Bus & Taxi stops right outside the front door. Having travelled as a group of 10 and also visited the other hotels our group were staying, Bachome/Casa con Estillo was by far overpriced for the facilities we had. We stayed in a double balcony room (room 2). This room was very small! The rooms are not soundproof either. we could here everyone coming and going and every door opening or closing at all times of day & night. Breakfast on the terrace was nice and did the job to start the day off right. Unfortunately this B&B Has no wow factor and has not overwhelmed me to leave any more of a review and would not choose to stay here again.
