Gracia City Hostel Barcelona

This was one of the worst and most stressful travel experiences I've ever had. I arrived at 8:00 PM, only to find the hostel completely locked with no staff. Other guests told me reception closes at 6:00 PM and they had received a check-in email — I received nothing. I spent hours trying to contact them via phone and WhatsApp, and even had Agoda customer service try to reach them — no response. I was stuck on the street for over 4 hours with no place to go. At 11:30 PM, they finally replied on WhatsApp with a single, useless message: "Where are you?" No apology. No solution. No responsibility. I was forced to book a last-minute, more expensive hotel and lost the entire amount I paid for the original booking. No refund. No compensation. Nothing. From there side I only contact agoda to try to refund the amount. This place is completely irresponsible, unprofessional, and careless. If you value your money and safety, stay far away from this hostel.

When i booked the hôstel, it has the lowest rates so i told myself not to expect "more". Apart from very ideal location, the staff were all nice especially Cathy. She was very pleasant and accomodating. No wonder, she is from the Philippines. ☝️ There are only 2 ladies' toilet in the second floor and one in the ground floor if im not mistaken. Never had major issues though. You get what you paid for.

I've never felt worse. Non-existent security as well as cleanliness. When I returned to room one I found a person in my bed (with all my things on the bed and in the chest of drawers) and once I had reported the inconvenience to the staff I was told to change bed because the person in question was now drunk and "It's there now." I attach photos of the bathroom, constantly running out of toilet paper.
