Sercotel Ciutat de Montcada

Just returned from a four night stay. The hotel was clean and tidy and the room cleaned every day. Staff were friendly and the small pool located on the roof had gorgeous views. I knew before booking this hotel was outside of the city centre. Train station is a short walk and reasonably priced return tickets to Barcelona. There are also some restaurants around the hotel. Overall a great stay!!

This is not a great choice for business travelers that may be used to American hotel service. The rooms don't have coffee makers or irons, the restaurant does not open until 7:30pm, and there are only 2 restaurants within walking distance. One night I went to the restaurant at 7:45pm, they told me their chef was not there, and maybe he would arrive in 10 - 15 minutes. I waited 30 minutes, still no chef - so I left. There is no bar, and there is very little in the way of a welcome. There are not smart TVs, so if you aren't fluent in Spanish, the TV is of no use unless you have an HDMI cable for your PC (and you don't need your PC for evening work). There are coffee machines in the cafeteria area, but you aren't allowed to use them if the restaurant isn't open. So, the location is not great, the amenities are not great and the service is not great. I usually stay in Granollers, which is wonderful! Great hotels, active community and many shops and restaurants. If you are headed here for business - head there instead.

Location was good, but no train service at the time of my visit. The room was not very clean. Black mud in some edges in the bathroom. Pool was closed but the customer service was excellent. Not really great value for money.
