987 Barcelona Hotel

I had an amazing stay here! I had the "Standard With Balcony" room. The room was clean and a great size, especially for Europe and the bed was super comfortable. I loved how the room also had a small fridge and full length mirror. The bathroom was great as well, lots of space. The balcony was amazing, had a good amount of space, a table and two chairs, and had an amazing view of the Sagrada Familia! The location is great and you are walking distance from so much plus there are metro stops and bus stops close by. The staff was friendly and helpful at check in. I would absolutely stay here again!

We stayed for 2 nights. Excellent central location with access to all major transport. Overall a nice experience: spacious and soundproof rooms, comfortable bed, good general cleanliness, satisfying sweet and savory breakfast. Staff perhaps a bit distracted. DO NOT TAKE THE HOTEL BIKES!

We arrived in Barcelona for a two day visit while waiting to embark on a cruise. On the positive side, we arrived to the hotel around noon and our rooms were available for occupancy. The location was excellent as we were downtown Barcelona and a leisurely :15 minute walk to Sagrada Familia, which I visited twice. (See my review on the guided tour). On the negative front, we all found the front desk staff somewhat curt and not particularly friendly. Also, the other couple booked our rooms and we were expecting balconies. What we got was an inner courtyard patio with a high wooden fence. Smoking was allowed on the patio so I was fine with it, but the rest of our group was very disappointed. The room was very small (our ship cabin was larger!) and a bit disappointing. Having said that, being from Canada, we sometimes have misconceptions about what to expect in European hotel room spaciousness. The brunch was not included and we passed on it, although it looked acceptable. Very high marks for location, but points lost for accommodations and staff friendliness. I would still recommend it if you can overlook the drawbacks cited.
