Fontecruz Palacio De Arenales

This has been the most FRAUDULENT experience of the thousands of hotels I have visited. I am an auditor and as such I travel continuously around the world inside and outside of Spain. This hotel markets itself as 5-star and has been the biggest fraud in the world. I arrived because their advertising announces a spa, gym…… etc., and the first thing that happens is that the gym is closed due to a problem with the floor. That is understandable, but why do they NOT say so……. What is the deception…. Incredible. The prices are exorbitant in the middle of nowhere literally and they started like that……. On top of that, they want to send you to have dinner at the cafeteria because the restaurant for a guest is full. Needless to say, being a member of the chain, THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I VISIT. I DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO EVEN WASTE THEIR TIME. TOTAL FRAUD.

Good hotel. Staff in general very friendly. Quiet. Good breakfast. Good-sized and comfortable room. Good pool and quiet area for swimming. The room's bathroom needs an urgent update; it is not very practical with the bathtub and the shower screen that lets water leak out when you shower. Also, it is a bit tacky to have the glob of caulk all over the bathtub. The spa also needs good maintenance and capacity control. The gym is very basic and small. With four people using it at the same time, you feel a bit uncomfortable. In general, I liked the hotel, but I would not consider it a 5-star hotel, rather a 4-star one.

Absolutely perfection in every way. Room stunning, staff friendly and courteous. Location just off motorway and so handy for our trip from Santander to the Algarve. Fantastic to find a truly dog friendly hotel offering magical rooms, location and spa facilities, restaurants together with safe parking onsite both in garage and within the hotels grounds. We always use this hotel if it’s available on our regular jaunts from UK to Portugal. Congratulations to the whole team.
