Hotel Alfonso IX

This hotel is relatively off the beaten track near Plaza Mayor. So much so that I doubt we’d be able to find it again! The place looks expensive – a small gang of businesspeople in town for a conference or something held court at a few of the outdoor tables down the way from us. However, the cost of the drinks was as low as we had seen anywhere else in Caceres. The waiter was good although he disappeared for a while so I had to go inside to pay for our drinks when we were finished. Still, an interesting place to watch life unfold in Caceres.

Hotel to highlight cleanliness, comfortable beds, good functioning air conditioning, super nice Montse receptionist.

The only good thing about the hotel is its central location. If you go alone you will not feel unaccompanied as the walls are paper, you hear from the shower and bathroom of the next room as well as the snoring entrances and exits of everyone on the floor. I don't care that everything's old could be part of his charm if he could at least rest.
