Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera

Beautiful Parador, updated, more sustainable, and suited to the times. This time, we only ate; an excellent culinary proposal based on local gastronomy. Very good.

The Parador is very beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the location is lovely. It is very disappointing, and it is inevitable not to compare it with other much better Paradores; on one hand, the bed, whose mattress was old and had springs that you could really feel while sleeping, and on the other, the restaurant. The migas were dry and flavorless, and the zorongollo was dry and nonsensical. It was all dry green leaves with roasted pepper (we doubted if it was from a jar, very bland) and nothing else, with no dressing. Well yes, a mini piece of tuna, the name of the dish was "with tuna." We were sad that the level of the restaurant was so bad compared to everything else. The patio where the restaurant is located is bucolic and very well lit. We are Friends of Paradores and we visit them very frequently, a shame.

The renovation turned out great. The superior rooms are more comfortable and have a shower, and the common areas look better. The restaurant is high quality: everything is delicious. The breakfasts and the cafeteria are also very good. The staff is efficient, approachable, and pleasant to deal with; it is clear that they want the guest to feel comfortable. The pool is very well maintained: surrounded by grass, large, and with many lounge chairs. In addition, we were able to enjoy two guitar concerts: a marvel.
