Hotel Escuela Las Carolinas

Great location and very easy to find. Has secure parking (8 euros extra). The hotel is very relaxed, clean and tidy, with charm and character. The receptionist (Lavinia) speaks excellent English and also helped me with my Spanish. We really felt nothing was too much trouble. We had a few drinks in the gardens before heading to dinner in a local restaurant. There are several restaurants in easy walking distance. The room itself was simple, but clean, fresh and tidy. It had a fridge with bottled water. A great nights sleep, and a lovely shower. Lovely soft towels and two pillows each. Breakfast was traditional Spanish, but with fresh baked bread, the seeded brioche being my favourite. We will definitely stay again.

All wonderful. It is a renovated 19th century house and very nice outside. It is relatively close to downtown although the bus line that passes close to the hotel (the 5) does not pass through many of the central sites, so you will have to walk. The bed, very comfortable, I slept great. The bathroom, renovated and everything clean (I have read in some reviews that there were fallen tiles -- in mine the tiling was perfect). Breakfast does not have much variety but enough and there are ties and sobaos (typical Cantabrian sweets). Good size TV, wifi worked great, in the room there is refrigerator and coffee maker with capsules. The desk in the room was very large (ideal if you need to work). I don't have to put a but on it. Next time I come to Santander, I'll be back for sure.

Very nice hotel with flair, close to the center. Parking available for a fee , friendly staff and very good breakfast
