Gran Hotel Puente Viesgo

Our experience yesterday at the Balneario de Puente Viesgo, with a reservation at 4:30 PM, was quite negative, mainly due to the treatment received from one of the employees. From the beginning, her manner seemed unpleasant to us. At one point, she even intervened in a private conversation we were having among friends that had no relation to her or the service. Furthermore, for the simple fact of being a group of six young women, she assumed that we were going to make noise or bother the rest of the clients, making comments referring to the fact that we were surely from a bachelorette party and that we should be careful not to disturb. We are adults and we consider it quite inappropriate to be judged or to have our behavior presumed solely because we are a group of six. On the other hand, at one point the jets and the facilities were turned off, and it was not clearly indicated to us that we had to wait for this employee before leaving. We spent approximately 5 minutes waiting without anyone appearing and, seeing that the facilities were turned off and that no one was coming to assist us, we decided to leave. It was then that we were reprimanded for leaving and asked why we hadn't waited. If it was necessary to expressly wait for the employee, we believe it should have been explained to us from the beginning. If that instruction is not communicated to us and the facilities stop working, it is logical to understand that the session has ended and to leave. In short, beyond the facilities, what really left us dissatisfied was the treatment received, the manner, and the lack of information. We expected cordial and professional treatment and, unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite.

The place is beautiful and the people are wonderful. The spa services are highly, highly recommended; in my case, the full deluxe massage, which takes relaxation to infinity and leaves your body feeling brand new. Gemma, you have wonderful hands. A great professional who managed to release muscle knots in 50 minutes that my physical therapist hadn't been able to remove in months.

Fair hotel for 4*, with spa prices and very high food/drink prices for what is offered. Better to eat in the surrounding area, as there is a lot on offer. Having been there now, I would look at alternatives.
